Arsenal v Bayern Munich Preview, Tips and Betting Offers, 20th October 2015, Champions League
Arsenal face their toughest clash of the season on Tuesday night, and nothing but a win will do. The Gunners have made an awful start to their Champions League campaign, and they could find themselves knocked out of the competition altogether if they can’t beat Bayern Munich at the Emirates. The Bundesliga champions have made a perfect start in this group, can Arsene Wenger find any way to stop them?
Arsenal have always made it through the group stage under Wenger, but that record doesn’t look like it will last much longer. Having lost their opening two games, Arsenal sit bottom of their group, trailing Bayern Munich by six points, and that gap could grow even further over the course of the next two games. They face the Bundesliga champions home and away, so it’s very possible that they could be pointless after four games in this group.
To avoid that fate, they need to turn around their poor start and somehow find a way of beating a Bayern side tipped to go far this year. They are perennial contenders for the Champions League, and they could even go all the way this year. They have the squad depth and talent to scare any side, and they’ll be determined to see off the Gunners early, and wrap this group up with two games to spare.
If Bayern are determined to go all out for the win, then that should mean goals. We know that Pep Guardiola’s team can be weak at the back, and Arsenal have the pace to hurt them. The German side have so much attacking talent that they could rack up the goals here, so that should give us a great game to watch. Given how Arsenal shared five goals with a side like Olympiakos, you’d think that Bayern should be able to get themselves a few goals.
Because of all that, we’re backing a goal filled game at the Emirates on Tuesday, with over 3.5 goals being our main tip. That’s priced at 7/5 with Coral, and while it is a high number, we expect these two teams to create and finish enough chances for that bet to land.
Given that you’d expect the majority of those goals to fall to Bayern, a comfortable win for the away side is out second tip. Bayern have swept away everything in their path so far, and now they face they bottom side. They should be good to take a victory with a -1 handicap, given how open Arsenal can be, and how potent their attack is. That bet is priced at 2/1 with Sky Bet.
