Chelsea v Arsenal Preview, Tips and Betting Offers, Sunday 17th September 2017, Premier League
Can Chelsea claim a fifth straight win this weekend? Their brilliant record against the Gunners suggests that this will be another victory for the Blues. After racing to a 6-0 win over Qarabag in midweek, the champions seem to be back to their best. That win allowed them to rotate plenty of their players, so can their returning stars get all three points with the Gunners visit Stamford Bridge this weekend?
Chelsea v Arsenal Tips
- Over 1.5 Chelsea goals at 4/6 with Betfred
- Chelsea to win at 4/5 with Ladbrokes
Preview, Stats and Head to Head
Chelsea have been made 4/5 favourites with Ladbrokes, while the draw can be backed at 11/4 with Betfair. Arsenal haven’t won at Stamford Bridge since 2011, but 888Sport price them at 17/5 to claim all three points this weekend. Will we see an upset when Arsene Wenger’s side visit this weekend, or will Conte and co. continue their strong return to form?
The Blues have responded remarkably well since losing at home to Burnley. Seeing off Arsenal would truly establish Chelsea’s return to form, as they’ve had a tricky run of late. Wins at last season’s runners-up Spurs and a victory over 2016 champions Leicester were impressive, as was their 2-0 win over Everton.
It’s hard to see past Chelsea this weekend, with Arsenal losing both of their away trips this season. Their 4-0 hammering at Liverpool has to worry Wenger, as his side were brushed aside at Anfield. Despite that big loss, it’s hard to see the Gunners changing their style in order to stop the champions.
Bets to Place
Chelsea may have struggled in their opener, but they’ve still scored twice in every league game so far. That’s added to an impressive string of results at home, with the Blues scoring at least twice in their last seven at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
We expect that run to continue, given that Arsenal have conceded a huge total of 18 goals in their last six trips to this ground. Their poor away record should see over 1.5 Chelsea goals, which looks like fantastic value here at 4/6 with Betfred.
Chelsea managed to win 17 of their 19 matches at home last term, and they’re in great form in front of their own fans. That makes things difficult for the visitors, who tend to only succeed against the bottom half in the league. Arsenal won one of their away trips to the top 10 last term, so we expect a home win this weekend. Chelsea should be much shorter for the points in our opinion, given their five straight wins at home to the Gunners. We’re backing a home win at 4/5 with Ladbrokes, which appears to be brilliant value.
