Chelsea v Spurs Betting Tips
Chelsea v Spurs is always a big game and this is no different. Chelsea are pressing for a top four spot, whilst Tottenham will feel they are not yet out of the Premier League title race. Ahead of Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s Premier League games Spurs are third with 66 points, six shy of Liverpool. Chelsea are down in sixth but have a game in hand over Man United and Arsenal, whom they trail by two and three points respectively.
The battle for a top four finish is well and truly on and Chelsea will take heart from the way they denied Man City any real chances during 120 minutes of the League Cup final. They ultimately lost and the Kepa controversy won’t have helped morale either but if Chelsea can replicate their performance then they should have enough to win against Tottenham.
Spurs also had a disappointing weekend, losing at Burnley when they had the chance to move within three points of the Premier League summit. On the plus side they welcomed Harry Kane back but they couldn’t really afford to lose that one and they certainly can’t afford a repeat here.
Home Advantage Crucial
Spurs have a woeful record at Stamford Bridge, whilst their stats against top six sides have also been very lacklustre for some time. Overall Chelsea lead the head to head by some way, whilst they also got the better of Spurs over two legs in the EFL Cup semis recently.
They won the home game in that tie 2-1 and we think a repeat score is worth backing here in what should be a good game. Both teams play on the front foot and both need to win, so we also like the look of Chelsea and BTTS.
Ultimately we feel that home advantage will prove key and be enough to see Chelsea beat Spurs. Odds of well over evens look like very good value and if you want a simple bet then the home win has to be the way to go here.
Spurs really have been poor against other members of the top six and whilst their away record is good, Chelsea are nowhere near as bad as people have been painting them to be. They can build on Sunday’s deserved draw with City with a win here so get on board our top tip for this massive clash.
