Next Arsenal Manager Tips, Odds and Betting
There’s no doubting that Arsene Wenger has had a massive impact on Arsenal since he joined the north London outfit back in the mid-nineties. The Frenchman is by far and away the longest serving manager in the top four divisions in England yet as the saying goes, ‘all good things must come to an end’.
We first started this post many, many months ago but now, finally, the French boss has announced he will leave the Gunners at the end of the season. That’s a year before his contract was due to expire but possibly about 15 years sooner than some Arsenal fans thought! Albeit 10 years longer than they would have liked!
Staying at one club for almost 22 years is an amazing achievement and something we are unlikely to see in the top flight again for a long, long time. Love him or loathe him, he achieved so much but now we must look forward and ask, who will be the next Arsenal manager?
Next Arsenal Manager Odds
Thomas Tuchel is vying for current favouritism along with Celtic’s Brendan Rodgers, Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira and Germany’s Joachim Low.
Odds move incredibly quickly in next manager markets so be sure to check the relevant sites for the current odds but at the time of writing the odds on those four key contenders are below:
- Brendan Rodgers – 11/2 at BetVictor
- Thomas Tuchel – 6/1 at Ladbrokes
- Patrick Vieira – 6/1 at Ladbrokes
- Joachim Low – 9/1 at Betfair
Beyond those names we have former AC Milan, Chelsea and Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti (10/1 at Coral), Luis Enrique (12/1), Max Allegri (16/1 Bet365) and Newcastle’s Rafa Benitez, also 16/1 at Bet365.
There are numerous other names in the mix too, with basically just about every top manager who is free or who might be looking for a new challenge, a realistic possibility. The likes of Diego Simeone, Leonardo Jardim, Lucien Favre and Thierry Henry can’t be ruled out, whilst Arsenal could take a chance on Eddie Howe, Julian Nagelsmann or Mikel Arteta.
None of those potential Arsenal managers are currently priced at odds longer than 33/1 and those odds could be cut very quickly on the back of a few sizeable bets from those the bookies fear have some new information.
As said, all odds quoted are correct as of the 20th April. However, this market (next manager) is one of the most volatile around. As managers rule themselves in our out of the running and the rumour mill gets swirling, bets will be made and the odds will change very quickly.
Next Arsenal Manager Betting Tips
This is a hard market to call but we feel there is real value in Rafa Benitez at big odds of 16/1. The Spaniard knows English football incredibly well and is old enough and wise enough to be able to take such a tricky job. As David Moyes found out, replacing a club legend whose very being forms part of the fabric of the club is an incredibly tough task.
Rafa has the experience and the skill to handle the job. He has achieved success in Spain and England whilst operating on relatively small budgets. Given Newcastle have spent virtually nothing he has done a great job there but we are sure he would leap at the chance for another big job.
He is tactically one of the best bosses around and his depth of experience, especially in European football, would be seen as a valuable asset. At 16/1, it’s Rafa for us and the man who won the Champions League at Liverpool has to be worth a small bet to take up the role as next Arsenal manager.
